Who is “Theodora” and what is her “Touch”? Why, she is “Teddy”, of course, and her Touch is creative expressions in Stained Glass, which reach from her heart to yours.
Theodora was named after her beloved grandfather Theodore and she always wished to not let her proper name fade away. Her business name “Theodora’s Touch” was born as a result of the death of her parents, when she was in her early thirties. To ease the pain Theodora attended a course which used stained glass as the medium for creative self-expression. BINGO! Her life took on a wonderful new dimension that has never stopped growing. The seed was probably planted very early in life as she watched her grandmother cut fabric into small pieces, rearrange them and lovingly sew them back together to create fantastic handmade quilts. More seeds were planted as Theodora was amazed and continues to be amazed by her graphic artist sister Wilda’s endless creations.
Theodora donated two stained glass windows “Descending Dove” and “Luther’s Rose”, in memory of her parents, to Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville, Illinois. Subsequently the church commissioned her for five additional stained glass windows. Numerous commissions from others followed.
Theodora Pluschke has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and programmed computers for various companies. Attention to detail is one of Theodora’s passions. Now she is using that asset to fully pursue her true passion “Stained Glass”.
